(Georgetown, SC) --- The Georgetown County Emergency Communications Center (9-1-1) has been advised by Frontier Communications they will be conducting repairs on their telephone system starting around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2016. The repairs will include the area north of Georgetown, South Carolina from Debordieu Colony north to the Pawley’s Island mainland, to include everything in between.
Residents and businesses in the area may not be able to dial 9-1-1 from their landline telephones. However, cellular 9-1-1 service should not be disrupted.
For emergency assistance, residents in the targeted repair area may dial the following ten (10) digit emergency lines (local calls) on their home and business landlines for the Georgetown County Emergency Communications Center (9-1-1). (843) 546-5101 (843) 237-4444
Again, 9-1-1 service for landline telephones may be disrupted on Thursday, April 14, 2016 beginning at 11:00 p.m. from Debordieu Colony north all the way to the Pawley’s Island mainland , to include everything in between.

Frontier Communications claims 9-1-1 calls/service from cellular users and other areas of Georgetown County not identified will be operational.
