Conway, South Carolina – The Horry County Animal Care Center will begin its low-cost spay and neuter clinic to local pet owners on Tuesday, August 9. The benefits of spaying and neutering pet dogs and cats are numerous and include preventing health problems, decreasing the chances of a pet running away and helping to decrease the number of unwanted pregnancies and, therefore, the number of unwanted animals in our local shelters.
This new program is open to all residents in Horry County for spaying and neutering of pet dogs and cats. Residents who meet federal “low-income” guidelines and/or on government assistance may be eligible to receive even lower costs. Pet owners will be able to schedule an appointment for surgery, Monday through Friday, from 1-4:30 p.m. in person at the Horry County Animal Care Center located at 1932 Industrial Park Road in Conway or by calling (843) 915-5172. A complete copy of the program guidelines are below.
The costs for cats is $50 and $80 for dogs. The special pricing for government assistance residents is $20 for cats and $40 for dogs.
