Golfers Will Play In The Two-Day, Stroke Play Event On Arnold Palmer-Designed Courses
Myrtle Beach, S.C. - The 14th Annual Junior Golf Shootout will be held on April 14-15, 2017 in Myrtle Beach on two award-winning Myrtle Beach National courses. Myrtle Beach National is home to three of the 22 golf courses owned by Founders Group International, the foremost golf course owner-operator company in the Southeastern United States. The Junior Golf Shootout attracts rising stars in golf, ages 10 to 18, from around the nation.
"Junior golf is a priority for us here at Myrtle Beach National and throughout Founders Group," said Brad Crumling, head golf professional at Myrtle Beach National Golf Club. "We'll host about four or five junior tournaments just this year and the shootout is one of the most popular. It's an exciting tournament that fills up fast because of great weather, great courses, and great competition."
The two-day, 36-hole event will be held on the Arnold Palmer-designed SouthCreek and West Courses. SouthCreek features numerous waste areas, guarding fairways that dogleg toward undulating greens, putting a premium on accuracy. Several memorable holes offer golfers the opportunity to make birdies as the course winds through wetlands and hardwood forests. The West Course features numerous doglegs that stretch out over beautifully rolling terrain, guarded by majestic Carolina pines. The course is known for its wide fairways and large greens, as well as its unique and lengthy par 3 finishing hole that has water running down the entire left-hand side.
The shootout is sanctioned by the South Carolina Junior Golf Association. Top finishers will earn points for the Junior Golf Scoreboard.
Interested golfers can register online or call 843-448-2300. The $135 entry fee includes two rounds of golf, lunch both days, and a tee gift. Caddies are allowed. Format is stroke play.
