CONWAY, SC – The City of Conway announces the Grand Opening of the new Waccamaw River Park on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 12 noon. Waccamaw River Park is located at 1050 Depot Road in Conway, SC. The Public is invited to attend. A Hotdog lunch will be provided.
In addition, the Waccamaw National Wildlife Refuge will be offering a sneak preview of the new Waccamaw Backwater canoe/kayak launch and parking area, located adjacent to Hwy. 501 Business South. Canoe and Kayak excursions will be offered from local vendors during this event. Amenities of the new 237 acre Waccamaw River Park include a shelter, board walk, observation platforms, hiking trails, a mountain bike trail, a disk golf course and plenty of nature.
Depot Road is located just off of Hwy 501 S business, just south of the Main Street Bridge in downtown Conway. Once on Depot Road, The park entrance is 9/10th of a mile on the right.
The Waccamaw River Park project would not be possible without the support of the Nature Conservancy, the Waccamaw Wildlife Refuge, American Rivers, the Waccamaw River Keeper and a grant from the Duke Energy Foundation.
