Two house moving companies will move five houses located in North Myrtle Beach on Wednesday, January 17, starting at 9:00 a.m.
North Myrtle Beach and Horry County law enforcement will be monitoring the project and Santee Cooper will be involved in ensuring safe passage under utility lines.
Traffic delays are probable along the routes to be taken. Depending on circumstances, this may be a day-long project and motorists should plan accordingly.
THREE HOUSES will be moved from 4400 North Ocean Boulevard to a location outside the city limits. The houses will be transported south on Ocean Boulevard to 2nd Avenue North, then westbound on 2nd Avenue North until they reach Highway 17. They will travel north down Highway 17 to the Cherry Grove exit. The houses will then be transported across Sea Mountain Highway and over the Intracoastal Waterway bridge.
TWO HOUSES will be moved to locations within the city limits.
One of the houses will be moved from 4400 North Ocean Boulevard to 504 23rd Avenue North, traveling south on Ocean Boulevard.
One of the houses will be moved from 4400 North Ocean Boulevard to 1408 Edge Drive. It will travel south along Ocean Boulevard to 7th Avenue South, then westbound to Hillside Drive. Once on Hillside Drive, it will travel south to 11th Avenue South, then west to Edge Drive and its final destination.
